FEMIFLORA
vaginal suppositories of hyaluronic acid
Supports in the quick restoration and reformation of the vaginal mucosa in a natural manner!
What you should know about the product you are about to use
General Information:
Hyaluronic acid, the principal ingredient, is a natural building block of the human body. Hyaluronic acid binds water to form a viscoelastic membrane-matrix in the surface of vaginal mucosa. It forms, therefore, a protective matrix on the mucosa and helps in the restoration of natural moisture. In this way it can greatly affect the elasticity of the tissues and support the natural healing process.
Indications:
The Vaginal Suppositories of Hyaluronic Acid are indicated for the amelioration of vaginal dryness:
(a) in postmenopausal women with established vaginal atrophy and symptoms of irritation, itching and pain during sexual intercourse (dyspareunia),
(b) in premenopausal women after recent surgery in the genital area, predisposing to dyspareunia, and
(c) in women with dystrophy of the vaginal mucosa due to, ionizing radiation, cryoablation, chemotherapy, corticosteroids, oral contraceptives, or any other medical intervention.
Vaginal suppositories with hyaluronic acid are used as a supporting factor of the restoration procedures of atrophic and dystrophic conditions of vaginal mucosa. They facilitate wound care after birth, in surgical operations of the vagina, after cryoablation, in dystrophies following chemotherapy with ionizing radiation – laser, in senile dryness, in oestrogens insufficiency due to natural menopause but also due to menopause caused by medical reasons, such as hysterectomy, ovariectomy as well as long-term administration of corticosteroids and oral contraceptives.
Intended application of the device – Duration of use:
The duration of use is usually 30 days but can be extended according to the condition and instructions of the physician or pharmacist.
The hyaluronate suppositories are intended for local vaginal application, whenever necessary. The duration of use cannot be easily defined. In patients undergoing radiation, the application will proceed in parallel with the radiotherapy, usually not long. In premenopausal women with recent surgery in the genital area, use will be temporary, depending on the progress of healing.
Postmenopausal women with vaginal atrophy and dryness due to low levels of endogenous estrogens are more prone to apply the device systematically, although even in these cases use may be intermittent depending on their sexual life. In either case, hyaluronic acid is a physiological constituent of the human organism not imposing any serious concern of toxicity.
Contraindications:
Known allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
Interactions with other drugs or vaginal medical devices are not known.
