Diabetes
Diabetes is a disturbance of the metabolism, i.e. the way our body uses the food for growth and energy. Most of the food disintegrates to glucoses which is called blood sugar. Glucose is the main source of energy. After digestion of food glucose goes into the blood stream and is transported to the cells. For the transportation we need insulin. This hormone is produced by pancreas. While eating this gland automatically produces the necessary amount of insulin. People with diabetes do not have normal production of insulin or the cells do not react adequately to the insulin produced. In such cases blood sugar level is high and most of the amount of glucose is excreted. Thus the organism loses its main source of energy even though blood sugar level might be high.
Diabetes type II
This is the most common form of diabetes. Around 90-95% of the people are suffering from this form. It is due to age, family predisposition, low activity etc. In such cases pancreas produces enough insulin but for some reason it is not used efficiently. After some years insulin production diminishes and as a result blood sugar is high
